The unexpected stranger
Good morning.
Things work in mysterious ways they say.
Circa Monday, 7:45 pm. Cruising down Patco to Collingswood after a long day. And as you know, it was a brisk 21 degrees. I hesitated in the lobby of the train station to figure out what I wanted for dinner. And, should I Uber for my little walk home. It was that cold.
I step outside and the wind blown tears were freezing on my face when a gray Audi rolls up. "Get in!"
She's a woman probably a few years younger than me. I recognized her of course- we said hellos in passing a few times a week but that's it. She knew approximately where I lived.
We hit it off instantly. Anna asked me if I believe in coincidence. I said yes. It's a mathematical term that means when two non parallel lines eventually connect. She liked my answer and I liked her.
Who picks up a stranger anyway?
Who knows. When the student is ready, the reacher appears. I get it.
But am I ready?
